Kyna is a former exhibition martial artist from the state of Florida. Before the world practically ended she did a lot of competitions and was just starting to make a name for herself. She had been married but her husband died during the merge, leaving her alone to care for their six-year-old son, Connor. Being a trained fighter as she was, she had a bit of an advantage surviving the chaos but applying skills that had previously only been used for show was difficult. In the new lawless lands, she found herself in positions where she had to kill or be killed. With a small child to take care of, dying was simply not an option and her once exhibition-only skills were put to use in much more deadly ways. She has since grown hardened to the idea of killing others for the survival of herself and those she looks after.

She currently struggles to return some normalcy to the post-apocalyptic world, and has emerged as quite the leader. Early on she happened to gain a following of survivors who felt safe with her. (So long as they weren’t on the receiving end of her bitterness.) After trying and failing to find any trace of civilization left, she decided the only way to help the future be more normal, was to begin to organize things herself. With strength in numbers, hopefully her son would have a safer world to grow up in.
